17/10/2023

Nuclear energy as an opportunity for regional development was the topic for the Sustainable Business Forum, which took place last Wednesday 11 October in the French Pavilion at the International Engineering Fair in Brno.

The IEF, the most important industrial fair in Central Europe, took place from 10 to 13 October and attracted tens of thousands of visitors eager to acquaint themselves with the newest technologies and innovations from across all key areas of technical and engineering industries. The French Pavilion, organized by the French-Czech Chamber of Commerce, showcases top-class French technology and industry know-how. This event greatly contributes to bringing the French-Czech business community even closer together. It connects experts from both countries and helps create opportunities for new business partnerships.

The Sustainable Business Forum provided a space for discussion about the possibilities of nuclear energy and French-Czech cooperation. Peter Szenasy, the founder and Managing Director of EPDOR, participated in the roundtable discussion on sustainable labor force for Czech and European nuclear programs. Industry experts shared their experience and insights on how to efficiently enhance the education system and retraining options so that enough highly qualified manpower for nuclear projects is ensured. A central topic of discussion was also the construction of new nuclear power plants and maximizing the benefits of nuclear industry for the region and the economy.

We greatly appreciate this unique opportunity and thank everyone for the inspiring and thoughtful discussion.
