Malá Křivoklátská Forest Run: another year, another success

26/10/2023

Saturday, 21 October saw the 51st year of the traditional Malá Křivoklátská forest run organized by the Křivoklát Sokol club. EPDOR has been proudly supporting this popular and beloved event for years not only financially but also by active participation in the race. This year, Peter Szenasy, Petr Lichý, Kristián Marcinčák, Andrii Mozhar, and Juliette Tort put their fitness and endurance to the test.

The event is open to men and women of all ages – everyone from small runners under the age of three to experienced competitors over the age of 80 is welcome to stand on the starting line and compete in various track distances. The main race started with a mass start from the Kolečko sports ground and the runners completed one or two 3000-metre circuits that led them through the picturesque valley of the Rakovnický stream and below the majestic Gothic castle of Křivoklát. Out of our runners, Petr Lichý was the first to reach the finish line with the time of 32:29, followed by Kristián Marcinčák (39:40), Andrii Mozhar (44:31), and Peter Szenasy (54:54). Juliette Tort achieved a time of 33:20 and placed 6th in the Women under 34 category.

The venue also accommodated visitors who came to support the runners from the sidelines and spend a leisurely weekend day surrounded by the beautiful nature of Křivoklátsko PLA. Side events included a show of historical sword fighting and live music, and visitors could enjoy good food by the campfire or seating in a sheltered area.

Congratulations to all the contestants on their great results and thanks to the organizers for this year's successful run!
