EPDOR, a new member of the Czech Nuclear Society

Although we devote most of our attention to renewable energy, EPDOR deems nuclear power a very important pillar of the energy mix that will supply our factories, households or public infrastructure with electricity in the future. This is why we are members of the Czech Nuclear Society, whose declared aim is to "educate, promote public education in the field of nuclear energy, and share objective information about peaceful use of nuclear energy". We believe that if our country is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and thus comply with the European Union's vision of sustainable energy, construction of another nuclear unit and promotion of nuclear energy in the Czech Republic in general is the right step towards such goal. However, such support cannot be unconditional. Nuclear energy must also adapt to the needs of energy transformation, it must provide greater flexibility and find ways to accumulate electricity while maintaining the highest safety standards.
