World Nuclear Exhibition 2023 spotlights the best of civil nuclear power
World Nuclear Exhibition, the world's leading civil nuclear exhibition, took place between November 28th and 30th in Paris. This year's WNE attracted representatives from 88 countries, showcased 780 exhibitors who presented their products and know-how, and welcomed over 23,000 participants. The biennial event provides a platform for experts, state officials, and nuclear industry business representatives to convene. The theme of the 2023 edition was "Connecting nuclear to the world: rising to the energy and environmental challenges".
Jozef Síkela, the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, was among those who emphasized the role of nuclear energy in achieving decarbonization of the economy. The Minister presented the Czech strategy for development and support of the nuclear power industry and he also opened the Czech national exposition showcasing Czech companies. The exhibition serves as a venue for numerous business meetings. Strengthening ties between companies in the nuclear sector and openness to international cooperation are key aspects of the event, which makes it an ideal setting for meetings with both current and prospective business partners.
Peter Szenasy, as both the Vice-Executive Director of the Czech Power Industry Alliance and EPDOR's Managing Director, and Zuzana Laugier, Managing Partner of EPDOR France, met with our long-term partners and clients, the ZAT company and ÚJV Řež. They also met with EDF (Électricité de France) and discussed SMRs, small modular reactors that can ensure a steady supply of emission-free energy. Conversations with ABMI and GE (General Electric) focused on potential avenues for future cooperation.
We are optimistic about the outcomes of our participation in the event and interactions with our partners, and we hope that we will be able to provide the Czech energy sector with new partnerships and opportunities.
